Remember the classic 1971 song, “American Pie” by Don McLean. The song is a tribute to the February 3, 1959, plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, that claimed the lives of rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson. The world lost a lot of great musicians and a lot of music that day.

Fast forward to the current day in the city of Waukesha, WI.

Paul FarrowWAUKESHA — It’s time to recap as 2015 moves into clearer focus in our collective rear-view mirror.

Local personnel changes and crimes dominated the headlines throughout the year, as can be said for many years. The roots of some stories were planted in years past, like Waukesha’s plan to divert water from Lake Michigan, which the state advanced to other states for their review, or the Slender Man case from 2014, which remains unresolved.

In Memory of the Edmund Fitzgerald – 40 Years Later

I was a mere 10yrs old when the Edmond Fitzgerald met its fate and sunk on November 10, 1975 at approximately 7:10 p.m. about 17 miles north-northwest of Whitefish Point, Michigan, at position 47 0’N by 85 7’W in Canadian waters.

I can’t say I remember the tragedy that occurred during my childhood, but today the fate of the 29 crewmen who lost their lives hold a place in my heart. WAUKESHA — After spending months discussing his stance on immigration and education during campaign stops across the county or chatting about foreign policy on trips to London and Israel, Scott Walker will announce what everyone already knows: he is going to run for president in 2016.
