The end to Waukesha’s Friday Night Live is in sight…
Remember the classic 1971 song, “American Pie” by Don McLean. The song is a tribute to the February 3, 1959, plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, that claimed the lives of rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson. The world lost a lot of great musicians and a lot of music that day.
Fast forward to the current day in the city of Waukesha, WI.

WAUKESHA — For 11 years the Sprizzo Gallery Caffe’ operated in downtown Waukesha. Just this past weekend the business closed its doors at 363 W. Main Street for good.
Citing the upcoming construction this month on West Main Street, Owner Karla Harper said the Sprizzo restaurant officially closed down over the weekend. In an online article published today by Sarah Pryor, Harper told the Freeman:

Today’s Waukesha Freeman has a story about how the City of Waukesha Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) simply “took over” the annual Waukesha Christmas Tree lighting event that originated and was operated by the Waukesha Downtown Business Association (WDBA) since 1999.
Catherine Huelsman, President, Board of Directors CWCC sent a 09-04-2014 memo (See Below) to WDBA members indicating that her organization will be running the tree lighting – not the WDBA!
