First Snow of 2012 Brings Numerous Accidents Throughout Waukesha

Car in Ditch Waukesha

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office said 48 accidents were reported since 3 p.m. Thursday, and 60 cars were in ditches. Traffic was traveling about 10 to 15 miles per hour less than the normal speed limit with slippery conditions, and there were plenty of snowplows on the highways and side roads.

Snow was coming down pretty good in western Waukesha, and drifts were blowing across roads, making driving a challenge.

This evening’s forecast is very windy and colder with more snow and blowing snow, with 1″-3″ additional snow possible.
