Town of Waukesha man Charged for August 2011 incident with Police

A Town of Waukesha man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly goaded a New Berlin police officer to come to a park and ride, where he then began to huff aerosol in front of the officer and was eventually stunned by a Taser.

Jacob A. Alessi, 26, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of intentionally abusing a hazardous substance and two counts of bail jumping. If convicted, he could face up to 27 months in prison and $30,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Aug. 12, the officer was conducting a traffic stop in the 6100 block of South Racine Avenue when Alessi began yelling and waving his arms at him from a nearby park and ride lot. The officer then suspended the traffic stop and went to the lot to see what Alessi wanted.

When the officer arrived, Alessi was slumped over in his car passed out. The officer then shook him until he woke up.

Alessi began to laugh and speak incoherently. He then told the cop “I’m dusting,” grabbed an aerosol can and began huffing it.

The officer tried to pull the can away from but was unsuccessful, so he then shocked Alessi with a Taser.

Alessi will make his initial appearance in court Jan. 23.
