The Wings over Waukesha air show this weekend was absolutely incredible. The air shows were filled with stunning routines that had all attendees in awe. This has been the biggest turnout ever in the history of Wings over Waukesha and the most exciting of all weekends to attend.
Jim “Fang” Maroney dazzled the crowd in the legendary “Super” Chipmunk aircraft, painted absolutely brilliantly as the American Flag. Zooming through the air with maneuvers that can only be described as incredibly precise and astonishing to watch, Maroney stole the show, having audience members on the edge of their seats. At one point the aircraft was flying at 170 miles per hour at only ten feet from the pavement, according to the announcer.
Maroney’s background includes a degree in aeronautical and mechanical engineering. He’s also had an incredible military career flying. Maroney worked as an F-16 pilot with North Dakota Air National Guard before recently retiring. This daredevil was truly someone to watch and admire.
