In just two short weeks (Saturday, May 4th, 2013) the Farmers’ Market officially kicks-off for its 5 month season in Waukesha. Featuring products like vegetables, fruit, flowers, cheeses and locally made crafts, 2013 marks the 15th season in Waukesha with a huge lineup of vendors expected.
Additionally there will be events such as music, a kids stage, and even some handyman tips on the “Ask Art” stage. Like last year it looks as though there will be a cooking stage where there will be periodic cooking demonstrations by various downtown restaurants.
History of the Farmers’ Market
The Waukesha Farmers’ Market began in 1999, and as an entity of the City of Waukesha was managed by the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID). However, in the spring of 2013 management of the Waukesha Farmers’ Market changed hands from the BID to the Waukesha Downtown Business Association (WDBA).
Other Waukesha area markets that will be launching the first week of May include Brookfield and New Berlin.
I’m really looking forward to this season and hope that the weather cooperates each Saturday?Share this post via:
