The two-day road project that closes east and west bound lanes on East Main Street between Manhattan Drive and Highway 164 is almost concluded as crews perform a utility upgrade – presumably for the new Woodman’s Markets that will soon be constructed at the old Waukesha Spancrete Plant location. The demolition of the Waukesha Spancrete has been going on for a couple of weeks now, with demolition to the main structure possibly concluding some time this week – at least from the look of things.
The utility upgrades began on Monday and are expected to conclude today, according to the city’s Engineering Department. So far there have not been any major traffic snarls or accidents reported as a result of this temporary road closing, and things are moving along pretty smoothly despite the lane closures.
